The new FTX-1 Field is a portable transceiver that uses SDR technology and provides 6W of output power with the 6400mAh lithium-ion battery (which allows for 9 hours of operation on the HF bands, in SSB mode, and 8 hours on the V/UHF bands, in FM mode, based on a 6-6-48 duty cycle). Using an external DC power supply, up to 10W of power can be provided .

The FTX-1 Field offers a wideband receiver covering 30kHz to 174MHz and 400 to 470MHz, including SWL, FM broadcast and airband. 

The FTX-1 Field comes with a high-capacity 6400mAh Li-Ion battery for convenient portable operation. 

By connecting the battery to the back of the front body, the FTX-1 Field offers 6W (5W for QRP) of stable RF power on all operating bands from HF to V/UHF in all emission modes SSB, CW, AM, FM and C4FM. The large battery capacity allows for 9 hours of operation using the 6W available on HF or 8 hours on UHF (6-6-48 duty cycle). The SBR-52LI battery is rechargeable either via a USB Type-C charger with PD cable of at least 45W / 15V 2A.

When connected to a 13.8V DC power supply, the FTX-1 Field's maximum output power is 10W. Additionally, when connected to external power, the front body charges the SBR-52LI battery automatically.

By purchasing the optional SPA-1 unit and connecting it to the radio panel the FTX-1 operates at 100W (50W in V/UHF) making it an excellent device for use as a fixed station.

Useful functions on all HF/VHF/UHF operating bands:

• MAG (Memory Auto Grouping) for HF/VHF/UHF : Memory channels are automatically grouped and can be recalled by band groups. In  M-GRP (My Group) , you can set any desired memory channel, regardless of frequency.
• QMB (Quick Memory Bank) for HF/VHF/UHF : QMB stores the frequency, mode, transmit/receive settings, filters and other parameters of the currently received signal. Up to 10 channels can be recalled with a single touch of the [QMB] key.
• PMG (Primary Memory Group) for VHF/UHF : You can register up to 5 PMG channels and quickly monitor them. In  AUTO mode , all PMG channels are scanned and up to two channels with signals are received simultaneously. In  MANUAL mode , the manually selected PMG channel is always scanned and listened to. Other PMG channels are also scanned and, if they detect a signal, can be received and listened to simultaneously. The PMG function is useful for monitoring the channels used by members of a Club for communication.
• AMS (Automatic Mode Select) for VHF/UHF : AMS automatically determines whether the received signal is digital C4FM or FM and sets the receiver to the appropriate mode. There is no need for the user to manually change modes.
• Memory Channel Scope for HF/VHF/UHF : The reception status of up to 43 memory channels can be displayed with a bar graph. Transmit/receive channels are selectable by touching the bar graph.

Further notable features of the new FTX-1 are:

• Excellent close-range signal handling characteristics are achieved  by a powerful RF front end with a 10-bandpass filter (BPF) design divided into the HF to UHF amateur radio bands and a low  NF (Noise Figure) RF amplifier , excellent for intermodulation characteristics. In addition, a high-purity 110.592 MHz oscillator provides the A/D converter with a high-quality sampling clock signal with excellent  C/N (Carrier to Noise) characteristics .
• SDR circuit configuration  to ensure excellent fundamental reception performance, adopting the same high-resolution A/D converter and  FPGA  used in the FTDX10.
• Effective interference reduction (QRM)  by a  high-speed 32-bit DSP , which offers the functions of  SHIFT / WIDTH / NOTCH / CONTOUR / APF (audio peak filter) / DNR (digital noise reduction) and  NB (noise blanker) .
• True Dual-Band operation , including simultaneous  C4FM/C4FM reception  (HF/V, HF/U, V/U, U/V, V/V, U/U) - HF/HF not available.
• 3DSS (3D Spectrum Scope)  with 4.3-inch high-resolution TFT color touch display.
• Intuitive front panel design , with dual LEDs above the MAIN VFO to indicate the current reception status of the MAIN/SUB bands, VMI (VFO Mode Indicator) LEDs to show the current operating mode (MAIN, SUB, and clarifier/split operations), and a  FUNC (Function) knob  for quick menu selection and value changing. 
• Super-DX  expands communication range - Super-DX can be activated on all bands and in all modes except C4FM.
• “PRESET” mode  , ideal for use with  FT8 .
• Two large front speakers  ensure powerful, high-quality audio.
• Die-cast aluminum chassis  with numerous slots for  efficient heat dissipation , ensuring stable high power output.
