ITA-BLN1114 - BALUN WITH DOUBLE INPUT 50 OHM 1:1 + 4:1 - for HF - 800 W P.E.P. - STURDY ALUMINUM BODY, 6 cm. DIAMETER
The BALUN (BALanced to UNbalanced antenna cable adapter) is a device for connecting an asymmetrical line to a symmetrical load (eg. a coaxial cable to a dipole).
By correctly balancing the currents in the two branches of a dipole, the balun avoids the distortions of the radiation lobes, the RF current is not radiated by the braid of the coaxial cable and interference due to return currents is avoided.
The ITA baluns are made of an aluminum body of 50 or 60 mm in diameter (depending on the model) and 2 mm thick that ensure great strength, whose ends are closed with plastic caps with anti-UV treatment.
The large rings allow the construction of multiband antennas with the same balun (multiple wires dipoles for example).
The connector is of the SO-239 type (female PL) and is located at the bottom.
The ITA®-BLN1114 is a DOUBLE balun with a 1: 1 and a 4:1 transformer ratio, and is particularly indicated to experiment with wire antennas which require different impedance feeds.
Its rings placed on a sturdy aluminum body are fixed internally and externally with bolts that prevent any movement.
The power applicable to this balun is 800 watts p.e.p.
WARNING:
Never connect 2 coax cables at the same time. Only one can be used at a time.
The BROWN connector is the 1:1 ratio, the WHITE one is the 4:1 transformer.
